I have seen alot of talk about resort splitting on the boards so I decided to look into the cost of it. I'm going on my honeymoon in Feb and really want to stay at the WL but it is pushing the budget alittle. For 7 nights at the WL it is $2342, so I thought about splitting the stay 4 nights at POR and 3 nights at the WL but that costs $2316. So I wouldn't be saving that much money. Does anyone know why or have any sugeestions. Thanks for all your help!!

Are you going during 2 different seasons? That would make your room rate increase.

We're staying Feb. 7-14th I believe that that is in the value season until the 16th of Feb.

Is this just the room charge or are you getting the unlimited passes. When you split the stay using a package it does not work out too well because of the cost of the passes.
Check the cost by doing a room only and buying park hopper plus passes separately instead of the package

I was doing it with the Ultimate Park passes for four nights at POR it was $1168 and then for the 3 nights at WL it was $1148. I just thought the UPH would be easier since that way we can get into Pleasure Island and Disney Quest with the pass.....

If you do it that way you will be paying for two passes on the same day. The day you check out of POR your pass will be good until midnight that night. Then you will check into WL on the same day and your passes there will start when you check in which will mean you will have double passes for the day you switch resorts, and that is why the cost is that way. You could book it seperate and wait for codes to come out (they usually have them in February since you will be checking in during value season). You can still buy UPH passes when you check into POR, and ask them to drop off the last day (which they may or may not do for you ) and then when you check into WL have them give you new passes as planned. I would actually just stay at the WL the enitre time if you really want the UPH passes, or if you split your stay just get 7 day park hopper plus passes. I have worked this out many different ways for our trips and I have never been able to come up with a UMP plan that worked with a split stay, especially since I don't like to go without a guarantee that they will drop off that day on the passes. Might want to book the package for the WL and then wait for package discounts to come out and apply the discount to your package. Another option would be to go with the room only ressie and plan on buying the passes when you get to POR. If they agree to drop off that last day for you then perfect, if not, buy 7 day hoppers at check in. Defintiely make sure you really will use the UMP options though. Will you really be going to Wide World Of Sports, DQ and the Water parks in Feb? If maybe not, then the hopper (which still will allow you 4 options)maight be a better deal, unless you plan on going to PI every night. Good luck and let us know what you decide!
