Question about resort parking

I've heard you can park free at the parks if you are staying at a Disney resort. We are planning on going to Magic Kingdom on our first day before checking in to the resort. How do you get free parking at the park if you haven't checked in yet?

The check in is online now. They want to limit face to face interactions in the Covid world so you can set your arrival time early in the day. They will read your magic bands at toll booth for parking lot. You could also just park at your hotel and use Disney transportation. You get a text message when your room is ready. Don’t really have to to front desk .

MOST of the time. There are times you either don’t get the text for whatever reason or your text says to see the front desk. And you can always go there anyway. It’s not like there is no one at the desk to assist people.

If you have a MB, the parking lot CM can scan it to see that you’re a resort guest that day. If no MB, show your resort reservation and an ID. If all else fails and they make you pay, save the receipt to show to the front desk, and they’ll arrange for you to be reimbursed.
