Question about resort availability on Disney website

We're thinking about a possible 4 night stay in early November. I went to Disney's web site yesterday and entered my dates and party info, & when the search came up the only moderates listed were Coronado and Caribbean Beach (both under construction...)
So thinking I'd look at what was available for value resorts I went back to Disney.com today & checked again, with the same travel dates and party information (was still populated from my last visit) and now it also shows POR. I've seen similar things happen in the past, and am curious about why there's availability now a day later. Is it a glitch, or do rooms somehow become available, or something else?
Hoping to book POR, btw. Just have to clear it with swmbo...

People cancel all the time so rooms become available. Early Nov is a big with Jersey guests because we have off for several days. POR is lovely - grab it if you can.

You most likely found a room that was canceled. Room availability for much of fall is limited. During the time frame that you;re looking at you have room discounts that were released earlier this spring/summer, free dining, Wine and Dine half marathon weekend, and Jersey week.

Since you can cancel packages up to 30 days without loss of money and 5 days for room only, rooms will probably open up as people decide to cancel or switch resorts. I know I tend to switch resorts at least once, if not 2 or 3 times, from the time I originally book until about 30-60 days out. If we do not switch resorts for our January 2018 trip, even if we switch and then switch back, I will be surprised.

With the shorter trip call cause when we booked there was nothing available for 4nights but if we stretched it to 6 or more there was a lot, we called and got the room we wanted for our September trip.

We've always found that resort availability fluctuates as people cancel or make changes to their plans. Same goes for dining and fastpass.
