hi everyone!
i'm such a newbie here lol
Booked our first Disney World vacation only 2 weeks ago and we go in January.

i'm trying to stuff my brain with so much before we go, I think I'm losing my mind!

Can someone please clarify a quick question:
If we have Dining Reservations inside MK, does that mean we have to be in MK for the day?
Meaning, if we were in Epcot and used our day pass there, but then wanted to go over to MK for our reservation at the Castle, would we need to use another day's pass to get in, just for the reservation?

I'm sure i read that on this site somewhere, but now can't find it for the life of me!

Since we booked outside of the 180 days, the only Character reservations we could get are inside MK, but I dont think we want to do everyday at MK... do we?

thank you so much!!

You will need to make sure you have hopper passes. A hopper allows you to hop between parks as much as you want.

Also find the Disney dining reservation thread for the month that you are going. It will let you know when people are canceling for dining that you may want to try.

thanks for the reply.

so, to be clear, without park hopping option, we would have to use another day pass, right?

thanks!

You must have hopping on your tickets if you want to go to a second park on the same day. You cannot "use" another day. The tickets will only allow you to go to one park per day without hopping. If you try to enter a second park that same day the system will show you've already been in another park and you will be denied entry. So if you have a reservation inside the MK that would be the only park you can visit that day without hopping on your tickets.

Hopping is a flat fee of $59 + 6.5% tax for each ticket and is good for the entire length of your ticket.

Here's a link to the January cancellation thread that you can subscribe to:

So it is a one time charge of $60 per person? I thought is was an additional $60 a day per ticket?

Nope, hopping is a flat rate. It doesn't matter if you hop one day or every day during your trip, it will cost you $64 per ticket.

You must have valid admission to a theme park to eat at a restaurant located inside that park. Even if you are planning to enter the park only to eat at the restaurant.

You can't do what you are proposing without park hopper tickets. During any calendar day, only one day's worth of tickets can be used. You can't leave one park without a hopper, go to another park, and have another day's worth of ticket accepted on the same calendar day.

Without the park hopper option you would have to buy a separate one-day admission to enter Magic Kingdom if you have already used your ticket at Epcot that day.
