I am wondering how the process works if you want to change the dates of your dvc ressie. It isn't until next November 2010 (current ressie is for Oct 2010). What is involved? Is there a cost to reschedule?

Thanks!

No cost to reschedule and no penalty as long as you make the change at least 31 days prior to arrival. If you make changes 30 days or less and the new reservation uses les spoints than the original, the rxtra points go into the holding account. Holding points cannot be banked, expire at the end of the use year and cannot be used to make a resrvation that is more than 60 days away. Try to avoid the holding account. It can be very hard to make a short notice reservation.

Anyway, to make the change, you just call MS and tell the CM what you want to do. The CM will cancel the October 2010 reservation and make the November 2010 reservation. Of course, all reservations are subject to the booking windows and availability.

Members change reservations all the time - it's not unusual.

If you are not the owner of the points, the owner will have to change the reservation for you. And, depending on when and where you are staying, the points may be different from October to November. If you are looking for the holiday time, the owner will need to call exactly at 11 months out for their home resort. If you want a different resort, they will need to call again at 7 months out to change the reservation. And it could cost more.

If you are renting, it's between you and the Member. Depending on your agreement, you may not be able to change your date, or you may forfeit any monies paid and you may need to get a new rental. It all depends on your agreement.
