Question about renting

Hi all, My family is trying to plan our Disney trip for the beginning of June next year. We have been thinking of buying into dvc but really wanted to try it out first. I have a couple questions about renting of points. The first thing, Is there any way to be able to tell if the type of room I am wanting would be available. We are wanting a studio SV at AK June 8-15. Am I to late since it is already past the 11 month mark. The other question I had is we always like to do the dinning plan. Is this possible to do if you are renting points? Thanks for any input I have read over the posts about what to look into before renting from anyone so I hope this works out. Any additional advice would be awesome.

Renting a villa for your first trip is a great idea, you'll be hooked for sure. If you can make sure you look at the other available room types, like the 1 bedroom. I don't think we will ever stay in a studio again after being in a 1 bedroom for the last few trips. As far as availability goes.......you may want to look at booking now. You will still have to deal with an AKV owner since the time frame is well before the 7 months mark. Also since you are looking prior to the 7 month mark I think your chance may be good on getting what you want. The DDP would be available to you even when you rent points as well as ME if need be.

Make sure you are comfortable with whom you may rent from. Disney does not get involved in this type of transaction. Good Luck...........

you need to post your request on the rent trade board, but yes. savanna view is a guaranteed booking category.

We are wanting a studio SV at AK (dates are probably going to get deleted anyway.) Am I to late since it is already past the 11 month mark.

it should not be an issue (especially since the kidani building should be open by June of next year). there will be plenty of savanna view rooms available at AKV.

yes, the DDP rules and costs will probably change for 2009 but you can have the owner book it in advance for you (along with ME and other things like that. be aware that you will not be able to add it at check-in if you don't have the owner book it for you.)
