question about renting points

Hi all,

Firstly im new to these boards and from Australia. My family is looking at renting some points for our holiday to WDW in Jan 07.

Currently we have a few members who are willing to sell us the points, however because I am totally new to this "renting points" thing, I have a few questions I would like to ask!

Obviousley you are going to try and get some background knowledge on the person by looking at there previous posts and etc.... But once you do a 3 way call with disney and pay the full amount for the points, is it possible for the person to go back to disney and cancel the reservations thus walking away with your money?

I have quite a lot of experience with eBay, so I know you have to be careful out there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, it is possible.

The member has full control over the reservation until the moment you check in. You'll need to find an owner who you can develop a relationship with and get a feeling of trust.

Also, depending on when you plan to go in Jan 07, you may be out of luck since a lot of Jan is already booked. And you could be past the 60 day point when any available inventory has been passed on to CRO to sell.

Watch out renting, it will get you hooked I did and now own.
