Question about renting points...NEVER DONE THIS!! Help!

I have a trip booked already through Disney for (dates removed). I just received an email from Mousesavers about renting points through a points company. (Not sure if it would be ok to post here who the company is! ) When I checked the price for BLT through that site for my dates, the price seemed LOW! It was $1600 for the week. I would like to add the dining plan, and when I figured that cost with the cost of me having to buy my own tickets, it was about the same that I am already paying. To move from CSR to BLT for that price would be sooooo worth it to me! I have NO CLUE how the DVC points and reservations work, so if someone could give me advise and let me know if the deal I found sounds right, please let me know!

There are a several companies that rent points that have great reputations. Time Share Store and David's rentals are both sponsors of the Dis board and both companies I would feel very comfortable renting from. There is also the rent trade board on this site that has owners renting directly (no middle man) and the price is typically lower but the risk can be higher. It seems the average points rent from 9.00 - 13.00 per point. Research the company you saw and look at the others mentioned and compare. Good luck.

As it turns out, the company I was referring to was David's site! That makes me feel a little better. I just hate booking online and would rather talk to a person. Can renting points through David's site be done on the phone???? Thanks for the help!

I have rented points several times at Old Key West from DISboard members over on the rent/trade board and have had marvelous, smooth experiences They were such wonderful experiences that I am renting again this April and August

i have rented from individuals four times and am in the middle of a transaction for late may right now with The Timeshare Store........never had a problem and have saved tons of money while helping people dispose of points they cannot use for one reason or another
