We have never rented out our XXXX but will need to do this for the first time. We would like to try and do this without a broker. There seems to be lots of info for those wanting to rent points but having a harder time for a DVC member who wants to rent out points. Any thread suggestions or someone who has rented out their points willing to PM me for some questions?

Why do you want to avoid using a broker?

I was just figuring the best way to maximize my earning on it would be to not pay a broker. Had a large unexpected expense I need to cover. I'm not closed to the idea of using a broker though.

My sister just rented out over 200 points through David's. 11 dollars a point with no hassles and in less than a week. Also very little risk.

You can certainly rent your points out directly. I have done so many times. As such, you can make a few more dollars than if you were to go to a broker (Especially if you have a high demand resort).

That said, it takes more work by you. You need to find a renter and negotiate terms (how much, when is payment due..). If you go this route, I think it is important to have a contract (there are some in the Sticky's I think) and also take the time to ensure the renter fully understands what they get and don't get with DVC.

I like to provide my renters with all the infromation I would provide my best firends such as, Dining plan, Magic Express, My Disney Experience ad FP+ info.

So like I said earlier, you can certanly do it yourself, but it does take some extra time.

If you need the money quickly, I would look into a transfer. The points would need to be current UY points, not banked or borrowed. With reservations through a broker, you'd receive your final payment after the reservation starts.

I know the Timeshare Store brokers transfers, but not sure if they do that for their current clients or anyone.

Thanks for everyone's input. I believe I have xxxxxx so I will need to research what the going rate is on it. But I'm now considering using a broker after everyone's input. Thanks
