Question about renting from Enterprise

When you rent from Enterprise at MCO, do you get to pick your own car like you do with Alamo and National? Thanks!

Well it has been a little while since we rented from them at MCO (we usually use ME) but last time we did, they gave us our choice of several vehicles in the class in which we rented...which was the higher sized SUV but not the big ones that seat 7 like a suburban. I have had the best luck with enterprise but I don't always get the best rate with them. BUT that said, I have always gotten great service at every office (except waiting to get picked up from DCL by them has been horrible in our experience) other than that, they are GREAT! and we have NEVER had surprise charges after the fact like some others complain about from other rental agencies. oh, and they don't do the high pressure insurance sales pitch when you tell them that you have it thru your regular policy and/or CC!

1) No.
2) With National, there is a wide/broad choice.
3) With Enterprise, your choice is within your car classification.
4) Just like any other rental car company.

So, they ASSIGN you a car instead of you picking out the car in the garage within the class of cars you are renting? In other words, if I rent a full-size, I will be ASSIGNED a particular car and given a key rather than going to the lot and just picking any full-size car? I just wanted to make sure I understood. Thanks.

Well, they started to say we have a "xxxxx" for you and we asked to see what else was available and we were allowed to pick what we wanted that was available from within our class. Now I did tell them that I had had back surgeries and needed to be able to comfortably get in/out of the vehicle and needed something that sat up high as I can't bend down to get in/out car. And they told me to try them all out and let them know which one we wanted. Like I said, I think Enterprise's customer service is some of the best. I think I tried 5 different models before making a decision.

We were going to cancel our Enterprise rental today because we have heard that they will try to bill you for Pre-existing dings and scratches. One of our friends was billed $967! DH gets discounts through his company for Avis, but even then their prices are ridiculous!

Well another thing I liked about enterprise is they are a bit more flexible than other agencies in our experience. I am sharing MY experiences, others may vary...but we have found if you're a bit late returning your rental (less than an hour) they have never billed us extra. We don't do it purposely, but if traffic is extra heavy (and once we got lost!!) they are pleasant enough about it.
We had a misunderstanding in our billing rate on our one way rental earlier this month (from WDW to PC) and apparently the gent at WDW didn't enter something into the system right, but the young lady at PC took our word (I told her who handled our ressie at WDW so she could call because it was only a one day rental) and adjusted it and gave us a bit extra off for having the inconvenience. YMMV with them but we have been happy! We always have them note all damage no matter how small (and they do) and then get them to do the same at return and get them to give you that rental agreement back instead of shredding it!!! that's what we do. Good Luck!

So you physically went out into the lot, picked out the car you wanted and then what did you do? Did you have to go back inside to get the key or was it handled in the garage? Please let me know all the details. We have only rented from Alamo and National so we only know their routine. I have a bad allergy to fragrance & smoke so I have to get into several cars at Alamo before I find one that does not reek of air fragrance or smoke. I would love to have that option with Enterprise as I can't seem to get a decent rate with Alamo/National. Thanks.
I am sooooo frustrated with the high car rental rates. :headache:

There was a rather large booth/office out in the parking garage where the vehicles were.
If I remember correctly, we did the initial paperwork at the inside counter and then went out to the garage where the vehicles were...the agent out there showed us exactly what was available as they know where the vehicles are and what is available etc... The agent took us to them and had me try them and said we could discuss it and when we decided, to come over to the booth and let her know which one we decided on. The only thing you have to be careful about though is if you take long, someone else could assign that vehicle to another renter in the meantime. just a warning... :)
Good Luck. We have really liked Enterprise and again this has been OUR experience. Others may have different experiences.

Thank you stitchlovestink. You have been patient and very helpful with all my questions. :thumbsup2

I want to thank everyone's info that was posted, as well. It's so hard to change companies. I wish Alamo would go back to their former business model and I could get a car rental at less than $200 for the week. Now, cars are showing up in the $400s and $500s. It's hard to believe anyone would rent at those rates.

You're Welcome! I seem to recall that the inside counter only does paperwork..All the keys are outside, so you have to go to the booth to get the key no matter what. Now that could have changed because this was a year ago but honestly, I doubt that it has.
I have rented from enterprise here at home (when I have been hit) & on vacay. And only have ONE true complaint about them and that was them not running a reasonable shuttle to DCL. they kept going back to the same ship! and they were down a shuttle driver (accident/surgery...just poor planning on their part when they knew they had 3 ships coming in that morning!) That is seriously my only problem with them out of 20+ rentals??!!
Again, Good Luck!!!
