Question about redeeming my AP voucher??

Thursday morning will be my first day in the parks. We plan to get started early. It is a magic morning so there will already be people in the park. Magic Morning begins at 7am with regular entry at 8am.

AP processing is inside the park right? What time will they let me in to get the AP processed? Will they let my friend in at the same time as me? She will only have a 2-day hopper.

We really want to get started early with fastpasses etc so I want to take as little time as possible to get the AP processed!

Take your voucher to the gates and they will exchange it for a ticket size pass to be used for FPs. You can go to the AP center any time that day to get your actual AP, you don't have to do it first.

Then as you have a chance go to Greetings in DCA and get your pass there. The time savings will make this worthwhile.

After hearing everything on here about doing it at DCA that is exactly what I was planning once they said I get a pass for FP at the gate!

Yeah, don't even worry about getting it processed until you have a bit of downtime. Just get to the gates well before normal opening time, and then go in and have FUN first! But don't go towards Fantasyland, that's for sure, as it will be packed (if you don't have access to MM, don't go to Fantasyland on MM days, that's my rule). Get there early enough so you can hit things like Indy etc etc before the MM people get out of their last MM lines.

So when should we do fantasyland? Both days we are going in the morning are MM days (Thursday and Saturday). We are only doing MHP on Friday since my friend could only afford the 2-day PH

If you want to go to Fantasyland, wait as Bumbershoot said. Peter Pan and Matterhorn will be the busy attractions so wait until noon and check on them or best yet at night. After fireworks is a great time for Fantasyland. It has to close down, so that clear it out, then after fireworks it reopens but most familys will be going to the gates.

Since you guys are adults, I'd go to Fantasyland in the evening instead. Don't waste your morning waiting an hour for Peter Pan, when you could be doing Jungle Cruise and Indy in the first HALF an hour (or so...honestly what I do is snag an Indy FP, ride JC, then go see about riding Indy before moving on), if you get there before all the MM people get there. Or ride Haunted Mansion Holiday before the hordes descend. etc etc. Just take advantage of the MM people all being in other lines, and get your faves done right then in the morning.

Then do the FL stuff later on.

Can the ticket sized pass for FP be used at both parks? Can it be reused on later trips, or will I need to get a new one each time we visit?

Yes, take your voucher to the turnstile, there you will receive a ticket sized pass for FP use. Then go any time THAT DAY to get your AP processing completed. Make sure you get the AP process completed that day tho, you will need the actual AP on subsequent visits to the parks.

The ticket sized pass is usable at both parks (you will use it to hop as well), it will not be reusable on subsequent visits and on those visits you will use your AP only to get FP's. Your AP will be ticket sized, it will have your photo on it and it will be your valid park admission that you use for FP's.
