Question about quartz and granite counter tops

We are going to be remodeling our kitchen. We are getting new cupboards and counter tops my question is for those of you that have gone the route of quartz or granite did you have to wait between the time time the cupboards where put in and the time the counter tops where put in?

the reason i ask is because i was told by someone not the cabinet maker that is having it done now that there is a month long time span between the time you get the cabinets put in and the time you get the above counter tops. I hope there isn't truth to it because now when i go to sleep i won't have visions of sugar plums it will be visions of mc donalds every day for a month yuck.

My cabinets were installed...the granite guys templated that same day and the granite was installed 48 hours later. They were REALLY good! Use a local granite place that cuts and preps their own granite, not a big box store.

Our kitchen counters took 2 days. It came in 5 pieces including the piece for the island which is over 12 feet long and curved.

My bar took 1 day and was 3 pieces covering about 40 linear feet.

Coming from a family with a background in granite importing and installing, I've never heard of this in my life. My counters were put on within a fews days of cabinet installation.
