Question about QS restaurants' desserts.

Are the desserts at QS restaurants in the parks pre-packaged so you can take them with you if you don't want to eat them right there or are they unwrapped and crushable if you try carrying them around with you to save for later. Maybe it's a stupid question but I'm trying to figure out if the DDP is worth it but we don't generally eat dessert at lunchtime, so I'd like to be able to take it with me. I know I can switch out the fruit bowl or cupcake or salad for a beverage but I'd like options. Thanks.

Mostly. most QS desserts are pre-packaged.

Some of them do not carry well. Mickey Bars and the like.

Yeah, the ice cream wouldn't but I'm thinking that a brownie or cookie or fruit cup would. We'll have a tote bag with water and sunscreen and I thought I could bring a plastic Tupperware container to put the stuff in so it won't crush. Not sure about that yet.

The chocolate cakes that many QS restaurants in the park offer have a lid with them, but they can be crushed pretty easily. Your tupperware container would help there.

I would say that most of them are pretty much for eating in the restaurant....not saving for later after riding rides and such unless you rent a locker and go put the dessert in there. Many do not even come with a lid.

It really depends on where you eat and what you order. Ice cream you obviously can't save, but if you get things like cookies, they're able to be saved. Honestly I'm looking forward to the changes for next year when it's an extra snack instead of a dessert, this problem goes away.

I tried saving a chocolate cake, as they come with a lid. What a mistake! The lid came off and on a very hot and humid day that was a bad thing for my backpack. Totally not worth it, they taste like little Debbie brownies anyway.

Personally I wouldn't waste your time trying to save most of them. Most of them do not come with lids and wouldn't be the best hours later after toting it around - imo.

That's what I was trying to find out. If the desserts don't keep well we could just switch it out for another snack like a water or soda or something like that.

I saved most of our desserts or rather at least one from each meal. My kids usually split one and saved another for later to split or not have it all. Sometimes I would toss the dessert at bedtime. Cookies are usually in a sealed bag. Cakes are in a small bowl with a lid. We personally never had an issue.
