question about purchasing additional points in the future

The more I read about DVC, the more it sounds like a great investment for my family. My twins just turned 3 last week and we have a good 20 more years of vacations with them and then another 20 more years of vacations with DH. DH has never been a big vacation person though. We just went on the 7 day cruise and he loved it (I had to beg him to go). Now I'd like to convince him DVC is for us. I probably can talk him into the lowest purchase of points, but what about if we want to add points in a few years. Do they pro-rate the cost according to how many years you have left, or do you pay for the addition points to cover the next 41 years. Just curious, does anyone know the average amount of points people purchase?

Best money we've ever spent. You need to decide how often you will be going to WDW (yearly, every other year, etc.) and then look at a point chart to figure out how many points you will need per visit. You can add on points until the resort is sold out. They do not prorate the cost - the cost of points just keeps going up, up, up.

Hi DeAnn:

I would buy the maximum amount of points you can afford or need for the type of accommodations and time of year you would be traveling now since add on points will cost you more per point in the future. I would be happy to refer you to a sales guide that we used who was very low key, professional and answered all our questions. He can also get you all the DVC info and the video.
Please email me and I will give you the info.

Good luck with your decision you will not regret it.
