Question about pull-out couch at BWV

WHen we go to BWV (first trip "home"!) in July 2010, we plan on staying in a 1BR standard view. DH and I will be in the king bed in the bedroom and the kids will be sleeping on the pull-out couch. The boys will be 3 and 5 when we go. We would prefer to use bedrails for them, although they also like to sleep on top of a folded and zipped sleeping bag as their "bed" with a blanket, placed on the floor. For some reason they find this to be a lot of fun when we are at a hotel! But, if they prefer to use the pull-out queen bed, could we use bedrails on it, or do they not fit on it? I know they are available at the resort, but I am curious if this is do-able. Thanks!

I think it would be difficult to put the bed rails on this sleeper sofa. It flips from the back and the cushions flip under the support the bottom of the bed.

Okay, so the bed rails won't work...so what do all of you who have small children like mine do for sleeping arrangements? Maybe we will just bring sleeping bags since they enjoy this anyway and leave the sofa bed closed. Does an air mattress fit into the livingroom with the couch there? I know this sounds like a silly question since the sofa bed opens up to queen size, but I am still not sure if the length of the queen size aerobed will fit in addition to the sofa being there.

Here's maybe another alternative:

The arms of the couch extend from the top of sofa, giving you the beginning of a rail I would then put the bottom cushions on each side of the couch with a dining chair against them to secure them to the sofa. Then the top and sides of the bed are encased preventing little ones from slipping out.

There is very little room in the living room but full size blow up mattress might fit tightly between the TV armoire & the couch. I don't think a queen would fit!

The cushions don't come off the sleeper sofa. They are attached and fold under to support the foot of the bed. But a couple of chairs might work.

I agree, the chairs would probably work well; they are quite heavy. Do you just need them on one side (where the 3 year old is sleeping?).

If necessary, for the other side, you could roll the coffee table next to the pull-out; there's also the large side chair that could probably be sqeezed in.

For our 3 year old, we used to take the mattress pad from the port-a-crib and lay it on the floor (you can use the sheet that fits too) and he was happy to sleep on it with his blankie from home covering him up. You could have your youngest on the floor and the older one in the bed.

Wow, thank you everyone for all the great tips! I think my kids would more than likely enjoy sleeping on top of some sleeping bags on the floor, with their blankets from home (we always bring them with us on vacation!). For some reason they find sleeping on the floor to be really cool! Gotta love little boys!

I will also consider the chairs though...and will not bring the air mattress. I don't think it will be necessary.

BWV doesn't have a coffee table, unless they have recently added them.

FYI: The 1BR's have an small oval coffee table and the couch cushions are velcroed (?) to stay put and out of the way but they do come off easily.

But if your remove them, they don't stay on the sofa very good and you have to reattach them, which isn't the easiest (we had to reattach the cushions on our sleeper sofa last month). That zipper is tough to get your fingers on in that tight space.

Although I haven't yet stayed at BWV, I have to agree with you on this one...I wouldn't attempt to remove them. It would probably just be annoying and frustrating! Feelings I like to avoid as much as possible when on vacation!
