I hope those of you much more experience than I am can help me with this:
On Friday we are checking into a 1BR at SSR (pretty late in the evening). The next day, we are switching to a 2BR. They are under two separate reservations. (My parents are flying down to meet us on Sat. which is the reason for the 2BR) What are our chances that we will be able to stay in our original room and have the studio next to us be the one that will be unlocked and become the 2BR? They told us when we made the reservation that it is possible that we may have to change our room. We are hoping to be able to unpack and settle in and dread having to check out and re-check in, not have a room until late in the day, worry about luggage etc. Just wondering what eveyone's past experience has been. Thanks for any info you can share

I think if you ask at check in and explain the situation that they will try to accomodate you if they can. I hope it works out for you. I don't have any experience at all, but sometimes people who have a cash reservation do ask and get the same room, they do have to re-check in. Pixie dust should helpl!

PS. If your reservation is for a dedicated 2 bedroom, it wouldn't work, do you have a lock-off?

Yes, we requested a lock-off. I was just hoping that someone would have had a similar situation and what the outcome was. We are checking in so late on Friday, I am thinking that we will get like the last room available or something. :sad1:

If your reservations are not linked, ask for them to be linked together. If they are linked, the person assigning rooms can see that you will be switching from a one bedroom to a 2 bedroom. If they are not linked, it's like you are 2 separate people and they may not assign you in a way that allows you to just open the door between the 2 rooms.
You will have to check out and check back in because it is 2 different reservations. Even if you don't have to move, you still have to 'close out' the first reservation and start the second one.
