Question about price ranges for buffets?

Hi. I'm looking at buffet restaurant options on the Disney website, and for many of them (e.g., Crystal Palace, Garden Grill), they show a price range. This is probably a stupid question, but if it's a buffet, why would there be a range of prices instead of one fixed price??? :confused3

TIA.

The range covers child's breakfast during non-peak times (lowest) to adult dinner during a peak time (highest).

The price ranges on the Disney website are not tied to a particular restaurant, but are a categorization of the menu.

This is done via average when compared to the different price range categories they offer. For example, if the average single adult bill came to $24 at one location, and the buffet was $39 on average at another location, Location A would show $15.00-$34.99 ($$$) whereas Location B should show ($35.00-$54.99) ($$$$) (or whatever the categories actually are).

You can see this in action by picking a date relatively far out and just searching for available tables at that time. You'll see LOTS of $15.00-$34.99 restaurants in that list.

Also, so they can change the prices without the website being locked into one particular price, so there is no chance that guests will show up and protest that they expected to be charged the price that is on the website. Easier than having to update the website every time the price changes or during every peak season.
