Question about points...

I have a question - does everyone use the same point system? I checked the DVC Point Charts at the top of this page - but it looks like some of the posts I've been reading people are giving all sorts of different point totals for rooms for a time period and when I check that chart- I see something completely different?????

Everyone uses the same point system....Maybe it was a weekend vs
a non weekend stay....or a standard room?

Yes - everyone uses the same point charts. The points for a specific resort are the same for everyone regardless where you own.

If you've seen different points mentioned , make sure it is for the same DVC resort and for the exact dates you are comparing as there is some variance based on date and for non-DVC resorts.

Yes - the DVC points charts are the same for everyone. However, points do vary between resorts and some resorts have different booking categories for the same size unit (due to view, amenities offered and/or differing bed arrangement.

The points are by night. Note that Friday and Saturday nights cost more points than the other nights of the week. The weekly amount listed is for any consecutive 7 day period that falls within the season. If a vacation crosses seasons, you have to calculate each night separately.

Assuming posters are correctly interpreting the charts (perhaps some are not), everyone should get the same total for the same thing.

The specific one I was looking at crossed seasons which is what threw me off - just as you said CarolMN. I was looking at the whole week total rather than adding up the individual days. Thanks everyone for your help!
