Question about points

Dont mean to sound dumb..I am new to all of this. The ex-wife took care of this stuff. On my DVC member page under: Use year Sept 2007 I have 67 points remaining - zero avalible to bank. I banked what I was allowed. I will not be able to use these points.. Can these points be transfered?? I do not want to get envolved in renting them. Sorry if this has been asked before. There is just so much info on this site that it is overwhelming. Thanks Don

I am guessing not. With Sep use year, you would have until end of April 2008 to bank all points issued Sep 2007 into the Sep 2008 year. Since you are telling me that there are 67 points in the Sep 2007 use year which cannot be banked, I am guessing those 67 points are ones that were Sep 2006 points which were banked into 2007 use year and must be used by end of Aug 2008.. If they are points that have already been banked, they cannot be transfered since banked points cannot be transfered.

They could also be holding points, if the OP changed/canceled a reservation on short notice.

OP, is there any indication on the website where those points may have come from? It is possible a change at the time of check-in threw those points into holding status, even if the change used the same number or more points, in which case a manual adjustment would need to be made by member services.

My advise, since you are new to tracking your points, is to either sask your ex (if you are on speaking terms) or call member services and ask where the points came from. But wait until after Feb 4th or so to call if you can, they are swamped right now with holiday bookings.

Thanks for the replies.. I sent a email to DVC and will have to wait and see. Maybe I will try to rent them.. I just hate to see them go to waste. Thanks Again
