What exactly is the New Years celebration they do nightly, just a quick countdown? Is there an additional charge for it? If so, is it covered by MYW Magic Plus?

Thanks!

BTW, 34 hours and counting until we are on our way down to WDW!!! :cool1:

Its a nightly count down done at midnight. They shoot off about 6-10 fireworks and its over with. No charge at all for it. Its very short and quick.

You can now walk through PI at no charge, there is just a charge to enter the clubs (and I have no idea what is covered under that particular pass you have). The New Years Eve countdown is done nightly outside but it is VERY short (maybe 25 seconds) and VERY lame - I would not make a special trip for it. It's nice to see if you're standing outside already but that's about it =)

Dh and I were there in October. I thought they'd scaled it back from the time we'd been there in 2002... I probably wouldn't stay until midnight unless I didn't have to wake up early. DB is going w/ us next month and he's never been, so I'm hoping he doesn't want to stay that late...

Also, the funniest thing happened while we were there last October...these guys were walking around on stilts with Doodlebops-type costumes and wigs dancing outside. My friend had her back to us, and one of them came up behind her and started gyrating and grooving to her back. She didn't see it, but we did and tried to keep a straight face. She glanced behind her and about had a heart attack. It was a perfect evening -- she'd been complaining all night!!

I'm at PI on average about twice a month. We're always there well past midnight and I've never even been aware of anything special going on. And no, I'm not THAT wasted! :rotfl:

Oh, wow... What'd you think that big stage was for in the middle of it all?? :rotfl2:

The last count i did was 37 seconds of fireworks ( starting when the flares shoot from the stage. It's been a while since i've actually timed it.

I've gotten different counts ranging from about 23 seconds to about 35. Or as a fellow co-worker says "Blink and you miss it!";)

for a while, the busier it was, the more fireworks they shot off. Then it became random.

I'm not on the island enough anymore to give an exact pattern though.
