Hi! I'm going down to WDW for Senior Week (in June) and although I've been there about a dozen times before I have never been to Pleasure Island. I'll be seventeen when we are down there (I'll turn 18 in August), am I allowed into Pleasure Island? A couple of my friends will be 18, so one of my friends was talking about a notarized document? I don't know I was completely confused. Can anyone tell me if I'm allowed in with an eighteen year old or if I can get my parents to sign something to say I'm allowed in! Please help! Thank you! :D

I am almost positive you will not be let in since your parent/s will not be with you. I went with my brother several years ago when I was 19 or 20 and he was 14. Our parents did not go on this trip at all so I was in charge of him and was basically his guardian but they wouldn't let me take him in. I doubt it would be any different for anyone under 18.

I am really not sure about it, but I will tell you what I think I know.

I believe you are allowed in at 18, but of course cannot buy any "alcohol". But, there are some really good dancing clubs and comedy clubs that are fun without drinking.

The only club I know you cannot get into is Mannequins and you have to be 21. I am 30 and they still ID me and I was with my mom and stepdad. My mom was 49 and my step dad was 52 and they ID them also.

I hope that helps. Somebody else may know something different, but I think at 18 you would be allowed into the clubs.

Thanks for replying, but does anyone know anything about this notarized document that makes one of my eighteen year old friends my "guardian"?

I can't help with the notarized document but I'm hoping you can figure something out to get into to PI and hope you have a lot of fun!!

sidenote: BET soundstage club is only for 21+ also, along with Mannequins.

They are really strict about you being 18 or older. When I was there last year I was 19, but I didn't have a license because I got a speeding ticket a couple of months back and was driving on a ticket. (That's what happens in Illinois...) I brought my birth certificate, marriage license, and ticket and they were STILL not 100% sure about letting me in. Even though I was 19!!!

I did end up getting in, but I had to fight with them for like 10 min.!!

I do remember, though, back in like 1997 when me and my friend went there (we were 14 at the time, I think...) We went into downtown disney (Pleasure Island area) during the day and just stayed there until it got dark and we were able to get into Pleasure Island without paying. I don't know if that's even possibel anymore, but you might be able to do something like that.

Sorry, but I think your SOL!!!!!!

The notarized document making someone a few months older than you your 'guardian' sounds like an urban myth to me. Sorry!
