I am new to this board and as a compulsive planner I am really loving all of the great info and advice!!!

My question is this: What do people wear for Pirate Night? Costumes? Elaborate costumes? Simple bandanas?

Thanks!!! Our cruise is in August, so I only have a couple of months to drive everyone crazy with my questions!!!!

They give everyone a bandana that says "Pirates in the Caribbean". I didn't see too many adults wearing costumes but a lot of kids had them on. Here is a picture of my son with our servers:

The navigator states "Tonight's attire casual wear or Pirate attire"
Have fun with it!

we have pirates of the caribbean movie shirts to wear and mickey pirate
ears hats for the kids.

I have read some do wear actual pirate costumes as well.

On our October cruise we had a mix of people wearing "ordinary" clothes, tropical gear and costumes. We wore tropical dresses and shirts (for DH) as we had already got them before the pirate theme was announced.

We even had a fully fledged (and extremely drunk!) Jack Sparrow look-a-like. There were quite a lot of pirate costumes but it was the Halloween cruise so this may have had an impact.

Would somebody be willing to give me all the details they can remember from the entire Pirate Night? From beginning to end...would be fantastic!
I have read on the boards that Goofy's Giggle Gala will most likely be planned for the same night. Of course I know we won't know that on the West Coast Cruises until the May 28th cruisers get on board, but I would like to know details about that event also. My daughter missed that event last cruise and it is number one on her list...but we are all big Pirate Fans here too.
You could really help me plan if you could clue me in a bit. Thanks! :teacher:

I am also wondering if Pirate night is going to end up on the night we are in Cozumel (Feb/Mar 06 Western) and we have decided to do the dinner off the ship that night and have the kids take the FURY Catamaran excursion. I hope we don't miss out!!! pirate:

We were on the 4/23 Western cruise. Pirate night was on the Cozumel port day.

I read on the board about people getting dressed up as Pirates and told my DW about it. So, she decided to get everone costumes. We had early seating and were in Parrot's Cay (appropriate for Pirate Night!), but we were the only family dressed up, with the exception of a few kids, and one older gentleman, no one else at our seating had on a costume. At first we were a bit embarrased, but we got a lot of compliments from our fellow table mates, and the wait staff.

The best part was some kids in the hallway must have thought I was a CM. They would wave at me. One kid yelled out "Hey Dad, there's a Pirate!" I turned and gave him a pirate "Arrr!", and he did back to me with a big smile.

We ended up having a good time and really got into the mood even before the Deck Party started. Don't miss the deck party, especially the fireworks!

Here's a picture of us in out costumes: Pirate Night!
