question about photo connect/star card

I hope so!! 2 days and we want to accomplish a lot! Hoping the crowds are dying down a bit!!

When will you be going?

More on topic: I just bought the 3 day package online (YAY!!) and I received my email instantly!! I was saving the payment confirmation page (just in case) and the email popped up!! You may want to contact them if you're concerned!

(Also, I'm going to add you as a friend on here so we can keep in touch!!)

I won't doubt it for a second that your trip will end up well with lots of excitement and fun.

Yeah you are right maybe I will give them a email and see what is going on. I did get a payment confirmation last night and that was all. I printed that out.

I wonder just because I decided to have my theme park passes mailed to me and my trip is many months away, maybe that is why. I am going in February and it is a solo trip. Ten days in all at Disney and spending two of those days at Universal. My signature says it all lol

Just accepted your friend request!!! Very cool and thank you.

Well if you got a payment confirmation then I doubt anything is wrong. I just know that I personally like to have the confirmation in hand! Also pcstang confirmed that they could find you easily without the confirmation! But the email may turn up too!!

That could be it too, who knows! The system could have also just been cranky!!

I finally looked at your signature after I posted!! 10 days--you're lucky!! That'd be so much fun!

I just emailed Universal as you were sending me your last reply. Great minds think alike as well since I agree that I would love to have some email confirmation on the photo connect. Only makes sense.

Yes there website (Universal) can be rather weird lol Shame on you for not checking my signature earlier j/k Yeah, ten days and solo. I have never done any trip solo. Should be a new experience for sure. I am defitnely looking forward to it and yes it should be a lot of fun. Also, hoping to maybe make a new friend and meet up with some fellow disers. Maybe walk the park or a meal or just whatever. pirate:

Haha cool!! I was supposed to go to the DIS meet at the 24 Hour Event but didn't end up staying that late! :(

I'd love to do a solo trip one day! I wouldn't have to worry about anyone else! I think it'd be great!!

Let me know when it gets sorted out!

Well I am very organized Kitty so in a sense everything is sorted out. I have my dates set along with my airfare, dining reservations, Universal tickets and let me see...on yeah, booked my two tours as well. I sort of can't believe I'm doing it either but I am going for it. A belated birthday trip for me in a sense.

That sounds amazing!! :goodvibes

I know you'll have a blast!!

Is this only through packages? Is it like Disney photo pass? I am not exactly sure what this is if someone can explain it to me that would be great

I received an email with a barcode on it. Directions say to print the email and present to any Universal Photographer. Instructions after that is get my first picture taken and to go and collect my Photo Connect card. Then I can go to present it at the photo counter at my favorite rides, attractions and character meet and greets. All pictures are saved to my account.
There is also an Amazing Pictures Mobile App.

I purchased this last year online and it was worth every cent!

I just purchased the star card package and would like to clear up a few things I'm confused about.

1. Does Universal mail you your card and Lanyard or do you get that when you get to the photo connect kiosk at the park?

From memory, I think I took information with me and claimed the card and lanyard in the park. I went to US first; so it was in the main shop just to the right of the entrance.

2. I understand that you have unlimited access to download as many pictures as you want with the star card from the Universal photo connect website, but do you have to pay anything extra with those downloads to get those pictures from your computer?

I think this means that the pictures remain on the account once you pay for the star card.

After each picture was taken, I made sure that the pictures were downloaded to the account at that location. It kinda meant that you have to queue up at the PhotoConnect booth at that location and wait your turn but this way, I made sure that I didn't lose any pictures. The booths will also add borders to the original picture so you really do want to hit the booths anyway.

When I got home and opened up the account, all the pictures were there and I just downloaded them down to my computer.

3. What do they mean when they say exclusive pricing on park photo prints---as low as $2.00 print. What does that exactly mean? Do ride photos cost extra? I thought the star card was one flat fee of $60.00

Just remember to claim your ride photos at the counter. Show them your card and they will swipe add the picture to your file.

I'm not sure about this year's offering but last year, there was a free print included in the deal. We claimed that free print and didn't buy anymore. But you could buy prints if you wanted to. I just came home and downloaded the pictures. I'm pretty sure the pictures are high resolution so you can always print them out at your local store.

4. When I leave the park must I seek out a photo connect kiosk and check all my photos out. Same thing with entering the park, do I have to find a photo connect kiosk?

I checked at the end of each day to make sure that all the pictures taken for the day were on my file. Just head to the store near the main gates.

Just to clear one thing up, I will be there twice in a three day span to take advantage of the star card. Any help is appreciated.

Hopefully this link might help.

Wow, thank you so very much for this information. This clears up a lot. Thanks!!!

Just thought I'd add a copy of a post I did earlier this year

I'd like to add my recent experience with the package .
there are some recent threads on here asking some questions about this, hopefully they can find their way here.:)

first off I wanted to say how jealous I am of those who got the package last year, you had several perks with that, including a cd & special photo pass, plus they also had an add on for $25 for all the prints you wanted IN the parks,,, sigh,,, they seem to keep taking all the good stuff out.

so we were at Universal in feb. & had weighed IF we really wanted the package. But , thought what the heck, so I ordered online ahead of time.

there are 2 programs now ( BUT they seem to change every few months, so check back). it is $49.95 online ($59.95 in the park) for 3 days of photos. BUT if you have a yearly pass you can get the whole year for the SAME pricing! <now that is a deal>

for that price you get to download all your photos from the website PLUS they give you a 5x7 & a 3x5 in the park of photos of your choice. this is what takes a long time, scrolling through the photos to choose the 2 to be printed. if you can look online while at the parks & choose, that will cut your time. remember if you wait till closing , there will also be a LOT of people trying to also get their photos.

the ones online are NOT superior download/print quality, they tell me you will not get good results if you want an 8x10. BUT you can purchase 8x10 in the parks, for $10.

You can ONLY get a print out at harry potter of that ride, they do not have that photo in the front of the park, but you can get it online.

major suggestion, take the few extra minutes at EACH ride to have them embellish them, it would take way too long at ONE time for them to do it at the front of the park, & for some reason , as someone else mentioned they are spotty in saving all the changes. I was there for 30 minutes getting stuff changed & then looked online & they were NOT saved. make sure you ask "are they saved"!!! Also, they have several different borders, have them do a couple different ones. they save the original photo & EACH version they make in your online folder.

I did not really care for any of the ride photos, like hulk, as you are pretty windblown, but hey, its a photo. at most rides they can just pull your row, or just 2 of you in the picture, instead of the whole car. Have them do it a couple ways, it doesn't cost any more, just adds to your total of photos to choose from!

suggestions:
when entering each park, seek out the front photographers. make sure you have the photo "also" done with hands outstretched in front. they put 'something' in your hand. not many choices though, at IOA its a choice between a hatching Dino, a lizard, woody woodpecker, AT US, they have Gingie, the U.S. globe, there are a few others , but not much.

Spiderman: you HAVE to go through the regular line to get the photo, its in front of a backdrop, they pull you out of line for it.
across the street from spiderman they have you take a picture WITH spiderman.

Jurassic park: by the t-rex. the photo is superimposed over a background that has "A" t-rex in it. its a really nice backdrop,, BUT you do not line up exactly as you are in the real spot. I wanted to do some fun shots, like hubby offering t-rex a beer or pulling his hat away from his mouth, BUT we did not line up correct on the final shot, they were able to move us slightly, but we were actually behind t-rex in photo, so his hat could not be in his mouth & his claw was on my head.:worried: I wish I would have known before & had the photog take a picture of us with OUR camera, which he was doing for others.

Did not see any photog on bridge by harry potter in 3 days we went.

men-in-black - they will put either an alien or a men-in-black agent or Fred in the seats with you (or over another person)..do not forget the ray gun effects.

at simpsons there is an outdoor booth, where you sit on a HARD HARD couch ( they warn you it is hard) . look at the photos out front so you can plan ahead of your pose for these.

at ET you go into the store for your photos. one is sitting in the closet with ET ( take the pose where your fingers are pointing or touching & they put a glow on it) the other is where you are sitting on bicycles.

the longest line we had was at shrek, especially since they took breaks often, sometimes Fiona was not there. think of something clever to say to donkey.

across the way is transformers, they had a variety of different transformers during the day.

they also have spongebob over near ET.

hope this helps:lovestruc

This definitely helps a lot. Thank you very much!!! Clears up a lot for me.

I just read on another site that the cost of most of the Universal Photo Connect options were going up by $10 and the annual pass option was almost doubling from $59.99 to $99.99. But as of right now, the old preorder prices ($49.99 for 3 day and annual pass) are still available online.

Can someone explain the Star Card photo CD option? We want high res copies of all our pictures - if we purchase the CD, are those high res? I can't find the answer on the photo connect site.

Thanks!

not true or no longer true with spider man you go into a gift shop and take a photo with him there.

This is a different photo. When you go through the regular line for the Spiderman man ride there is a spot where they take a picture of you and put it on the front of a newspaper page with a headline about Spidey.
