Question about people on reservation - removal after check in

So we have someone joining us for our stay but they are basically going to be doing their own thing so we're not running FP or anything else during our stay. I don't really want to deal with refreshing fastpasses for an extra person so I was wondering if anyone had experience with checking in and then moving someone off the reservation (like off your MDE). My thought is it locks them onto your account until the reservation is done. Has anyone had luck removing someone right after check in?

Are they staying in the same room as you? The risk of removing them from your reservation may remove the room access from their magic band (if staying on property).

Yeah, I would think that would disable their room access, remove their access to EMH at the parks, prevent them from using Magical Express to return to the airport, and at some resorts, remove their access to the pool.

Can't you just unselect them when you are refreshing for fastpasses? I often go to the parks without my husband while he relaxes and I have no issue just looking for fastpasses for myself.

When doing fast passes you don't need to select that person. Simply don't check their name off and just have the people you are with selected. Taking them off the room will cause a lot of problems.
