Question about paying for room in full

My DH & I booked a room at the Pop back in May and just put down the deposit. We're not going until August, but want to pay for the room in full now (and not wait until we're at the desk). We booked the room online. So my question is, what avenue do I use to pay off the rest of the room? Do I call CRO and just give them my CC# through them? Or do I mail in a check? And if I mail in a check, where do I send it? Or do I do something else? We've always called to book our room, so forgive my ignorance when it comes to online booking. Any help is appreciated.

I put a deposit down in June when I made our campground ressies for October,I called yesterday and paid more down on the ressie.. just gave them our existing number and paid more w the cc... so far it has not been a problem. I will have it paid in full before we get there in October.

You CAN mail them a check if you want. You can call CRO to get the address -- usually they mail you a pre-addressed envelope with your paper confirmation of paying your deposit. That being said, I always just call and pay them with my debit card over the phone. :goodvibes
 

I always call, give my conf. # and pay be phone, it makes me feel more secure that way.

hmmm weird. I had called WDW today to pay off the remainder of my room res. for Monday. But they said I couldn't make a Payment over the Phone and had to wait until check in to make the remaining payment.

-- Do you think it was the CM I got? Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
 
If it is a room only res booked online it will start with a R. These reservations cannot be paid in full. Only 1 nights stay plus tax can be taken. If any greater payment is made it will be automatically refunded by the system.
 
Why can't a room be paid in full? Why would they refunnd the money if you're paying in full? That doesn't make any sense.
 
The way the online system works, it downloads only one nights stay to the resort. It is a system limitation, therefore the balance must be paid at the resort.

Please forgive me, because I'm trying to figure this out...so please don't feel like I'm trying to say "you're wrong" or anything, I'm only trying to understand. :)

When I look at my reservation online, it shows what the room costs for our trip, it subtracts our deposit, then it gives us our remaining balance. It then says under my confirmation number: Please Note - Your balance due may not reflect your most recent payment. To refresh the information to reflect a payment, go to My Itineraries and re-enter your confirmation number and phone number under View Existing Reservations.
So it seems to give the impression that you can continue to make payments. But if you can't continue making payments with a room-only reservation, then why put that note up? Seems misleading. :confused3
 
i think it's just a standard msg that appears with any booking online, be it room only or package. but the previous post was correct, you cannot pay for an online room only booking (starts with an R) in advance...it's a system limitation.

I'm sorry to say this is not right. I always book a room only ressie and pay it off before I arrive to the resort. The last time we went in Nov. I had it all paid off in Aug. I had no problem w/ it. When I checked in all they said was "and your room is paid in full"
 
This is true. If it is a room only reservation booked ONLINE, you cannot make anymore payments.
I called CRO to ask if I could, two reps said I couldnt, the third said sure you can. So she took all of my info, and said she applied the payment.
Only to find out that two days later, the payment had been removed from my ressie.
When I got my cc bill, it showed the charge, and then the credit was posted the next day.
Wierd. Oh well.
You can always cancel your online ressie and re-book with CRO. :flower:
 
Since paying in full in advance is essentially giving Disney an interest free loan, I don't understand the motivation to do so. I assure you that The Mouse will never give you an interest free loan.

An interest free loan? Paying for services that will be rendered is considered an interest free loan? We want to pay it off now because we're tired of having to deal with all the money stuff once we get there. We just want to not worry about it and get it out of the way so it's one less thing on our minds when we get there (especially considering it's a "big" thing to worry about).

It just doesn't make sense that you can pay for everything else ahead of time, but heaven forbid you pay for a room only ressie if you book it online. I see no difference between paying for your room in full ahead of time when you book a package online and paying for it ahead of time when you book a room-only ressie online. Both accomplish the goal of paying for it ahead of time. The only difference is whether or not you're getting tickets with your room. But then, that would be the logical way of thinking I suppose....
