Question about paying ahead...

I just talked to (Grrr!) WDTC about my DC ressie. I'm making payments on my room so that it will be paid for when I arrive. I made my last payment 2 weeks ago and haven't received a confirmation, so I called to ask where it is. She told me there is no way for them to send a confirmation of payments you've made-- only when you make your final payment by the DC "deadline". She told me "just look at your credit card statements"! I don't think that is right that I can't have a receipt for money I am giving them. Is she giving me misinformation (as WDTC is known to do) or is that really how they do business? I'm pretty aggravated!

I am staying 3 nights at AKL before moving over to the BWV, I have paid for one night and did not receive a repeipt or anything, was wondering if I should have, but just kept my credit card bill showing the payment.

I always got a confirmation for the payments I made, I go through the diney club card, I think:)
 
This seems to be a new response and I hate it! Without that confirmation showing how much I paid, I don't have "a leg to stand on" when I check in at the resort. What happens if I think they got all of my payments and didn't? That would create a mess at check-in! Last time I was told this I asked the CM to talk with her supervisor and a confirmation sheet was sent to me. I would insist upon it for your own peace of mind! :p
 

I just spoke to a CM yesterday cause I did not get a confirmation of the last check that I sent. The other two checks I sent I received updated confirmation showing the new amount on deposit. She was very sweet and helpful. She told me it was policy to send them after any payments and would send one out right away. Told her that I used the tear off portion at the bottom to send more money. It took me 3.5 months and 5 phone calls to get my initial confirmation from The Hardrock Hotel. So keep trying, but be nice cause its contagious(sp?)
 
When I sent my final payment in, I sent a note to please send me a receipt that it had been received. And they did. I have that and my canceled checks all ready to go in 14 more days, yipee!!!:D
 
I just paid my final payment last night. It wasn't due until the 28 of July. The CM told me I would get my certificate and paper work about 21 days before check in and that would show I was paid in full. But I, like you wanted a conformation that it in fact stated that prior to my 21 day cutoff date and that the CM hadn't made a mistake.
 
Update here.... per your suggestions I called back and *luckily* received a very cheerful CM who assured me that a confirmation will be in the mail tomorrow. Now why was that so hard? I think it is unfair for those of us who joined DC to receive inferior service. Out of 5 phone calls to WDTC in the past couple of months, this is the first CM that has been helpful and kind. I really don't understand why I have to book through them...

But the moral of this story is: when dealing with WDTC "if at first you don't succeed, try try again" or possibly "if you don't like their answer, wait 5 minutes".
