Ok, another passport question!

My family's passports have just arrived!! :goodvibes My husband and I each signed our own passport, but what about my minor children ages 13 and 11? Do they sign their own passport, or should I sign them? What did you do Disers? Please help me out.:)

Yes, your 11 and 13 year olds can sign their own passport. If they can sign their name, they can sign their passports.

My DD7 signed her own passport for her cruise in March.

OP, I hope you don't mind if I ask a question here...

OK, I'm not blond, but this might sound like a blond question.

On the first page of the passport form, you fill out your name, address, etc., then you get to the second page and it wants you to fill out "Name of Applicant". So if my son fills out his own form (he's under 16) does he put my info on the first page and his on the second or does he put his own info on both parts? I'm confused because in the first part it asks for mother and father's name, but that's not in the applicant's section. So, if that part is supposed to be my info, it would be DS's grandparents names? I'm sooooo confused.

Also, it says, "Emergency Contact - Provide the information of a person not traveling with you to be contacted in the event of an emergency." Why would they ask for this info, it might change with each trip. For example I would normally put my mom as EC, but she is traveling with me on this trip. However, on the next trip she probably will not be with me. I know I'm probably over thinking this, but that's what I do.

My DH went to Cuba twice on his old passport and had never signed it. Somehow I don't think that is checked too closely.

You ask very good questions!:) When I filled out the forms for my children I put their names for the name of applicant on the first page and second page. It did seem redondent to me, but I just filled it out. For mother and father's name I put in my husband and I. I figured it is their passport (meaning my children's passport) and has to reflect their information. For emergency contact I did put in my mother's name and address although my parents may be going with us on our cruise. But they don't always vacation with us, especially overseas.

I hope that helps. :)

The agent in PC told me that we needed to sign our PPs when we got off the ship after the repo. We had boarded without anyone noticing though. She did say that it would make it easier for someone to clone our identity if they were stollen and we didn't sign them.

When DD got her first one, at age 2, I signed for her. When she got hers renewed at age 7, she signed it herself.

I handle passports at where I work, you will put your childs name as the applicant wherever asked on the application because he is the applicant. The reason you have to fill it out on both pages is because the pages are torn in two before mailing out and if they would get separated they wouldn't know who it belonged to. You will put your names in the parents information. That will need to match his birth certificate. On the emergency contact, you put whoever you want in there. And yes usually it is someone who is not traveling with you. But when you get your passport there is a place inside for you to put in an emergency contact. It tells you to do it in pencil so you can change the contact if you are all traveling together. Hope this helps. :)

When we arrived in Port Canaveral for our cruise, a DCL agent checked
our passports (which weren't signed) and requested that we do so.
