Question about parking at Resorts

We have a 4:40 "reservation" at 1900 Park at GF. I have read that you cannot park at the resorts for more than 3 hours at a time, unless you have a dining reservation #.

If we want to go to MK in the morning and spend the day there until dinner, can we park at GF in the morning, grab the monorail to MK, then grab the monorail back to GF for dinner? We would be parked at GF for about 8-9 hours.

No, you should park at MK and take the monorail over to dinner not the other way around.

The resorts around MK and EP usually issue you a parking pass good for only 3 hours. I wouldn't chance it. It would stink to come back from dinner and find that your car had been towed. :sad2:

That said, some folks have mentioned that if you're willing to pay for valet parking, you MAY be allowed to park as long as you like. I'd be sure to tell the attendant your intentions when you pull up and make sure it's ok (again.... towed... :sad2:)

Best option is to park at TTC for the day and take the monorail over to GF for dinner then hop it back to TTC when you're through.

Have fun!

I wouldn't trust leaving the car at GF all day. Not sure how well they enforce there parking measures. I would park at the MK lot. You can either leave it there till after dinner (using monorails) or come out of the parks get the car and drive over to GF for dinner. I know they give you a parking pass with the time so if they want to enforce the 3 hour thing they can. I know at the POFQ it wasn't a biggie. Had friends come to visit all day. But with the Poly where we go for an hour or two for fireworks I think they're more of a stickler. I'm thinking the Deluxe resorts are a little more picky on the parking.

Resorts around EP and MK definitely crack down for 2 reasons... 1) parking is limited and needs to be available for people actually staying at those resorts and 2) they don't want people trying to skip out on the parking fee at the parks. (not saying that's the case with OP)

Thanks for the replies. We will just park at TTC and grab our car before dinner and park at GF, because we aren't going back to MK afterwards. (We are going on a Wishes Cruise the night before, so no reason to stick around for the fireworks...we will go play mini-golf after dinner if not too tired).

I asked this question before my trip and got back a bunch of angry replies saying not to do it... but I looked EVERYWHERE for a sign that said 3 hours only... there isnt one at the GF or at the Poly. We were not given a pass or even told to only stay 3 hours. They would ask why we were going there, we would say to eat, and they would say have a great dinner/breakfast!

We did it about 5 times during our week. It was never a problem.

You were very lucky - I've seen them towing cars out of the monorail resort lots.

You're right, there aren't any signs that I've noticed. It's up to the discretion of the guards though and is definitely enforced at more crowded times. We got a 3 hour pass at the Poly in December, and once at the Contemporary we got a 3 hour pass along with a lecture to go with it (about towing) when we arrived for our Chef Mickey's reservation. The point is - resort parking is for guests staying at or legitimately using the resort, not for people going to the parks. As someone who has stayed at Epcot area and MK area resorts a number of times, I can tell you that it really stinks when you can't find a place to park your car.

Yep, no signs but it is an un advertised rule. They normally do tell you when you go to park. Also when you have a dining ressie, they sometimes have asked our names and checked on a sheet. I am not sure how often they do that, but it has been done to us.
