Was the Electric Water Parade actually a main street parade a while back?? I am listening to live365 and there is music for it and it sounds like the water parade music. They called it the Main Street Electric Parade. I would just like history about it. I had been between the late 80's and early 90's but then not again until 2003. Does it go even further back then that, or can I just not remember?

Thanks!

The Electric Water Pageant was created for the dedication of the Polynesian Resort in 1971.

The Main Street Electrical Parade was born off of the same concept. The originial Main Street Electrical parade premiered at Disneyland in 1972 and left there in 1996 (having gone on hiatus twice in that timeframe). A version of the parade was created for WDW and premiered in 1977, that version left MK in 1992 and was sent to Disneyland Paris. The original version that had been used at DL was brought to WDW in May of 1999 and remained at MK until April 2001. At that time it was sent back to Disneyland and is currently being presented at Disney's California Adventure.

So the Main Street Electrical Parade has been presented for many years in many places. It is not the same as Spectro Magic, the way they do the lights is completely different, but many people do get the two confused, thinking Spectro is the "Electric Light parade".
