Question about opening time

I am going in May and the scheduled opening time is 9am for DL. My understanding is that they usually open the gates around 8:30ish. But what about on EE days for those who do not have EE tickets? Can you still get in at 8:30 or do you have to wait until 9?

They will still open Main Street up at 8:30. There will be a rope across Main Street and an area to the side (on the left) where EE folks can show their EE tickets and go into the rest of the park. Everyone else can shop or get food at the Bakery or Carnation Cafe. Usually, there are several characters out in Town Square at 8:30.
