Question about online courses.

Hey everyone,
So I am not enrolled in a formal university but am still educating myself using various courses like MITOpenCourseware and EdX. I assume that these courses are not enough to get into the DCP, so my question is, will I have to pay the money for a formal course through an accredited university just to get into the program? I am still educating my self so I really don't see the need to have to pay for something just to get into a certain program. Do you guys have any suggestions.

1. Students must be currently enrolled and taking classes at an accredited program or institution and have completed at least one semester OR have graduated within the past six months

If you want to do the DCP, you will have to enroll in an accredited course. The idea is that you are working towards a degree, which is not something you can earn through taking non-accredited courses

Agreed. The point is showing you can commit to a single program (or programs) with time, money, and structured studying long enough to get a degree. At least according to what I've been told in looking for jobs, its a big way that employers can see that you are trustworthy and reliable. Whether or not that's fair, and whether it not 4 year degrees are a good measure of that is a matter of debate. However, it is the way it is for the program you want. A semester is about 4 classes or 12 credits or so. There are a lot of accredited schools that offer classes online, including community colleges that are good and less expensive than a 4-year school. You would probably have to go to the school to register. And stay away from the for profit schools! Many aren't accredited anyway, and they are all pretty predatory.
