Expenses I should expect? I am not an alcohol drinker so that is not an issue. What are required besides tips? I don't want to be surprised at the end!

Tips are the only required expense. If you are not booking other things like Palo, Remy, pictures or Senses Spa then you are good. Those things are not automatically calculated into tips. Have a Great Cruise.

Tips, port fees and stateroom charges are all you are required to pay and you're not required to pay the tips if you don't feel that the service warrants it. Of course you can buy photos, snacks at the movie theater, gift shop, excursions and alcohol but as for hidden costs there aren't any though there is plenty to buy as well as many free things included.

Well forget my post. Princessshmoo is all over it.

Where did you get this awesome list?

With everything being said and to be fair be aware that your servers are assigned to follow you throughout your cruise and it is to no fault of their own if you choose not to dine in your assigned area. They are there waiting to serve you even if you do not show up.

It's always nice to alert them that you will miss a meal if you have other plans. That way they don't set up for you.

Sorry I am asking probably dumb questions but port fees and stateroom charges?

Also, if I do no excursions but go off on my own, is there a fee?

Port fees and taxes should be rolled into your final amount along with the cruise fare. That amount is due prior to cruising (usually 75 days prior but it depends on the itinerary).

If you just get off the ship and walk around the port -- no fee or charge unless you spend money on your walkabout (beverage, snack, souvenir, etc.). If you sign up for a DCL-sponsored excursion, those are charged to your onboard account. If you sign-up with a private vendor for an excursion, you have to pay by their terms (probably credit card in advance).

Enjoy your cruise!
