Our extended family has cruised together 3 times on DCL - each time thinking "this is a one time trip" - so we have never done the onboard booking or even looked into it. Just my family (DH + 3 DS's) has decided we must do another DCL cruise, so we just booked one for June of this year (Dream, Castaway double dip - so excited!). We are also assuming we will want to cruise again in 2019, so are planning to take advantage of the OBB this June.
Question: When I look up the identical cruise (Dream Castaway Double Dip) in June 2019, it is ~$1,000 less than what I just paid for our last minute June 2018 trip. So, should I go ahead and book a cruise for June 2019 and then reshop on board in June 2018 to see if the 10% discount is worth more? Or, should I just wait and book on board? I have searched the boards and there seems to be quite the science to booking in order to get the best deal. For example, I didn't even realize that Silver reservations open up early. So, although this will be our 4th DCL cruise, I am feeling like I haven't been too smart about how to get the best value! Thanks in advance!
