Question about old Passes

I've seen a lot of questions about upgrading old passes, and I'm heading to WDW in July with DH, and I had a question about my old passes.

I have some passes that I'm pretty sure have no park days left on them, but definitely have some of the "plusses" left on them.

I suppose, really, I have two questions--will they be able to check and see exactly what's left on these things, and if indeed there are no park days left, and I add onto them, or do I have to start over, and just use the old passes for the plusses only?

Yes, they will be able to check your passes at guest relations and tell you exactly what you have left. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Lake Buena Vista last year, and they were able to check them in their Disney owned gift shop.

As for adding on, what will likely happen is that you will use what is left of the plusses on your old passes, and buy new passes for everything else.
