I have an 8:10 PM ressie at 'Ohana on a night that MK closes at 8PM. The theme park schedule shows Wishes starting at 8PM. What are the chances of us getting seated in time to see it? I'm thinking nill. I know if I was there and the fireworks started I wouldn't vacate my table until it was over. Just curious what others experienced/thought. Thanks!

Unfortunately slim to none, the customers already there will 'stand their ground' until it is over. However, I would do this:

Walk down to the beach and have a seat, watch the fireworks from there. It is one of the best views outside of the park you will find and the music is piped in. Then when over, saunter upstairs and claim your reservation. By that time tables will have come open and you can enjoy a leisurely dinner.:cool1:

I agree, if I had a window seat, I'd stay parked until after the fireworks!

I agree with the suggestion to watch from the beach. We have eaten at O'Hana's 3 times during Wishes - nobody leaves their table - at least not if you have a table with a Wishes view. Another time DH and I walked down to the beach and cuddled in a cabana on the beach to watch Holiday Wishes. The speakers were not working that night, but we could hear it pretty well and the perspective was great - even better than from O'Hana's IMHO.:thumbsup2

the view from the beach of the poly is great! i agree with those who said go to the beach first

With the timing so close, I doubt people will leave their seats if they are in a prime spot for viewing from Ohana's. I'd do what posters above mentioned by walking down to the beach for a better chance of watching.

I give it as none to none. 'Ohana already runs notoriously late most of the time, so even if the fireworks were later, I bet you wouldn't be seated until close to 8:30. Add in 8 PM fireworks and I don't see any way you'll be seated to see them.

I am taking my brother-in-law (5) and my 2 sons (2&5) to Ohanas for our first night in the world (January 10th), I made 7:05 ressies on purpose because my bro-in-law and my 2 yo have sensory problems and are insanely afraid of the firework noise so I figured they would be able to enjoy the pretty colors without all the bangs. I requested a window seat ad will take our times so we can see the show. Maybe you can try to get an earlier ressie?

We always expect to be seated at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes AFTER our reservation time....no matter what time we check in (we've tried to get there early, etc). The beach would be fun, but I think you can also see Wishes from the Tambu Tambu lounge, can't you?

Two weeks ago, we had the exact same reservations and the exact same predicament as you. We checked in at 7:50 and were seated by 7:55 and had a great view of the fireworks. It could have been because we were only a party of two, but I'm saying that it's a possibility. You should watch from the beach though, I hear it's an amazing view. And oh so romantical!
