Hello All! This is our first time venturing to Universal/IOA and also Seaworld. My question is, we are going in the begining of October. I noticed that they have Halloween Horror Nights a couple of nights during the week that we are to be there. My kids are 5 and 10 and not easily scared however after seeing some of the images from Halloween Horror Night I am concerned. How much of this decor makes it into the everyday of Universal that time of the year? Just curious. Thanks all for your input! That way I can prepare my kids.

nothing will be displayed at ioa.
at the studios, where hhn will be held, will have some large structures that will be covered during the day.

they might be a few items that can't be covered due to size.

And generally, The props that you will see for the day aren't going to be any scarier than the atmosphere or setpieces you'd see in something like Disney's Haunted mansion. (ie. You might see some stuff that looks rundown or abandoned..... or some gravestones/crypt type buildings. You won't see stuff like blood, body parts, or anything that in the light of the day would even warrant a PG rating)

Any and all scary and/or graphic setpieces that are too big to remove completely from the park during the day will be obscured in some way (such as a cloth/tarp covering it)

Does IOA decorate or acknowledge Halloween in any way?

Not really. There might be some halloween related merchandise or baked goods available, but since the main halloween event takes place at the Studios park, that's where the majority of the acknowledgment and decorations would be located.

Here are a few pictures from the past couple of years showing props left out at the Studios for HHN. There's nothing really scary during the day.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I was feeling some concern but after seeing and hearing everyone's experiences I feel so much better. Thank you for the pictures. That really looks neat and I agree nothing scarier then the Haunted Mansion. Thanks again!
