Question about MYW upgrading

Just when I thought I had the MYW tickets figured out for our 8 day trip I thought of something else. My plan is to get the 7 day tickets thru one of the discounters and, if we go to the parks everyday, upgrade to the 10 day tickets on our last day. If we buy the tickets at a discount will Disney know this and charge us the difference between the 7 day discounted price and the 10 day non-discounted price or will we be charged for the difference between Disney's advance purchase price and the 10 day price?

As I was typing this question I came up with another one. Can I upgrade just two sets of tickets and the four of us use them? In other words, can one ticket be used by two or three different people, one right after the other?

You can upgrade the 7 day MYW to a 10 day with no problem as long as it is done within 14 days of first use of the ticket. In your case, you would receive a credit on the old ticket based on the wholesale price of the ticket that Disney sold it to the wholesaler for. Your new 10 day ticket will be priced at gate price.


All MYW tickets now require a name on the ticket and the use of the biometric scan at the turnstiles. This ties each ticket to a single identifiable person. Even with the old PH/PHP's you could only use one admission per day on each ticket. Same with MYW.

Thanks for the quick response. It sounds like it will be easier just to buy them from Disney in the first place, which I guess is what Disney wants anyway.
