Question about myspace.....

This is slightly (okay a LOT) embarrassing, but I just made a myspace. It is so cool, and through their search function I have been able to catch up with a lot of my friends from the past. This is the embarrasing part. I found my ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend on there. I so want to look to see what they are doing (still together, where they are living etc.) but I am terrified that she will be able to see that I am looking and my pride would be damaged. I am VERY happily married----just curious. Does anyone know if myspace owners can see who has looked at their site? I'm not logged in, just wondering if it logged IP addresses? I am the only person they know in this city so it wouldn't be too hard to narrow it down. Okay........thanks for listening to me and answering my questions I am too embarrassed to ask my real-life friends.

I am completely computer ILLIERATE...so I cannot help with that question on whether your ex will know it is you or NOT....but IF by chance they will know it is YOU looking at their site....maybe there is someone you are friendly with here on the Dis Boards that would "peek" for you and fill you IN!!!

Just a thought! Not even sure if that is even legal to have a Dis member look at them, replies please.

I will say my good friend's daughter downloaded all her "partying" pictures on
her AOL Instant Messenger and I viewed them....a day later my friend is telling me that her DD said I looked at them. Friend said it was OKAY but I had NO idea my email address or screen name WOULD APPEAR!!! UGH!!!

I don't think you can see who has looked at your profile. I was on there for a little bit and didn't find anything like that.

myspace has a feature that allows you to shield your page from all except invited guests. if that feature isn't used, the page can be viewed by everyone. that includes people who aren't logged in to the system.

I don't know if the myspace system records who views a page...but if you're not logged in, and use an internet provider that gives you an anonymous IP, there's no way you can be identified when you view the page.

there was a recent incident at my daughter's school where some of the students posted photos on their myspace pages (the photos showed the students partying, and beern and illegal drugs were visible in the pictures), then were outraged that the school principal actually looked at the photos. bottom line is, if you post it on the net, anyone can view it.

No. I have a MySpace account. I've never been able to tell who's looked at my page.
I think there is some sort of tracker available. But it's one that a person has to search out (outside of MS) and put the code in. So it's highly unlikely that the person would know if you looked or not.

There is a program called profile snoop http://www.profilesnoop.com/ which is basically a code you can put in your profile to see who is looking at it. It will provide the link to that persons myspace account or there location if they aren't logged in. You would then log into profile snoop to view who has been checking you out.

If she has something like that set up then she will know you are spying if not she will have no clue!

I had the snoop in my profile for awhile but I took it out!

But, do how do they know who you are? Don't you have a MYspace name? Or did you use your own? I know when my DD's on hers, you can tell who is online at the same time as you. I think everyone's set up is different.
