Question about MP3 players and IPOD shuffle!

Ok.......here goes. Whats the difference between buying a IPOD shuffle and a MP3 player. If someone just wanted to download music of their choice to listen to without all the bells and whistles of movie screens/video download. Cant they get the same from either tech toy?

an iPod shuffle IS an mp3 player.


iPod is the 'BRAND'...shuffle is the TYPE...but it's still an mp3 player.

there are other mp3 players out there that have the same basic 'functions' as the iPod shuffle (ie - no screen) but will be cheaper. (try mp3 players by Creative labs)

seriously - you slap "iPod" on something and it just jacks the price up! heheh

I, personally, have a 20gig Creative labs "zen touch" mp3 player...it's great for what it does...sits on my desk and blocks out annoyingly loud coworkers.

I also have an iPod shuffle..which is great to work out with because it's so lightweight. (yes - i didn't have to buy the iPod apple brand...but I had gift cards to target, so I splurged).

so if you JUST want something that plays music randomly...yes, the shuffle would be a good bet...but so would this:
