Do they ever run nonDisney movies on the DCL ships? The new Looney Tunes movie comes out Nov 14th and we sail Nov 16th ... just wondering if there's a chance it'll be on the ship.

Thanks....

I heard our cruise director say once that Disney is the ONLY ship that can show first run movies....(long pause) because they OWN them all! :)

So, if this is the case, and Disney doesn't own the WB movie, then my guess would be 'no,' but I'm hoping someone who KNOWS for sure answers this post for you. :)

Hmm...I read a list of movies that were playing on the Magic. I thought some of them weren't Disney.

I know the Haunted Mansion will be playing for us OhioMinnie! :teeth:

I'd also like to see Radio. I guess maybe I"ll just have to bite the bullet and see it in the theatres before we leave.

Occasionally the ships' theaters will show non-Disney films but only after they have been out a considerable amount of time. I seem to remember that the first Harry Potter film played on the Magic the Spring after it was released (it was released the November before). I think they also showed the first Lord of the Rings film but, again, it was long after it came out in theaters. I seem to remember that the Harry Potter film showed up on the Magic around the same time it came to those in-room hotel movie channels.

We leave in two weeks from tomorrow!!! Could anyone give us an idea of what is playing on the Wonder currently??

Thanks!!

Laura

I'm thinkin' we'll get Brother Bear ;)

You can call up to a week before you sail and find out which movies are showing during your cruise. Call 1-888-325-2500, choose the "reservations" option, then ask what movies will be showing. That is according to the PassPorter Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line, and that info is on page 110. Let me know if it works!

Ok, I just tried it. They gave me a list of what they have to choose from, but that is not set in stone. For instance, Nov. 6 Wonder has to choose from:
Chicago
Jungle Book 2
Bringing Down the House
Lizzie McGuire
Finding Nemo
Pirates of the Caribbean
Freaky Friday
and by that time Brother Bear.

She still said to look at the Navigators each day to make sure.

On the October 5th cruise.... we also saw Cold Creek Manor... I think it had just came out... so it might be still playing.

The way they choose the movies you get to see,is the production company. Disney movies are produced by Buena Vista, hint-hint the name of the theatre. "The Buena Vista Theatre." So they will also show other movies produced by Buena Vista!
