Question about modifying a reservation with pin-code

I have a question about modifying reservations. I called Disney this morning to see if I had a pin-code associated with my name (no such luck) because my Dad just got the 40% off code. Now, of course I will do my best to convince my parents that they need to go to Disney and book 2 rooms, but I am thinking about going ahead and booking with the AAA discount myself.

The CM I spoke with said I could book with the AAA discount, and then if I get the code I can call back and modify the reservations. OK, no problem, that much I know. But, he also said if I convince my Dad to go, I can modify my existing reservation with his pin-code because he is allowed to book 2 rooms. I said, "He won't have to make a new reservation himself since this one would be in my name and the pin-code is in his name?" He said no. That doesn't make sense to me...if my Dad is the only one allowed to use the pin, how can we modify a reservation in my name? I thought the reservation would have to be in his name. Could it be that the CM thought we lived in the same house, or can this really be done?

I've gotten misinformation from a few CMs before, so I'm not quick to believe something that doesn't sound quite right. Thanks for any help!

Yes and no. Yes your dads code can be used on your res because his code can be used to book up to 3 rooms. BUT even if your dad decides to go and apply his code to your existing res does NOT mean it will be available. Every pin/code/discount/promo has a certain number of rooms available. Just because you have a room doesnt mean you have that room with a discount.

My teaching assistant came to school today and told me that she got the 40% code through email. She is not even a Disney fanatic and went years ago.

Anyway, she knows how crazy I am and that I am going this summer. She is now thinking of taking her 2 daughters at the same time.

I know that people can book up to 3 rooms on a code. Do those rooms have to be only for family members who live in the same household or could she book a pacakge for her family and one for mine?

What would happen if she changed her mind and wanted to cancel out her room. Would they cancel me out as well? Anyone ever run into this.
