Hi all

We've planned a big family holiday for 10 of us including 3 under 5's - My DD who will be 13 months, and my SIL's 2 children - DD5 and DD2 for 2 weeks in September.

Anyway my question is this - WHY do so many of you visit MK first?! As it's most people's first trip (including all 3 kids) we were planning on doing Epcot first (as I think it's the least interesting for children) followed by MGM, then AK, and finally MK. We're just scared they'll get burnt out on all the excitement of MK and won't get into any of the other parks after that. How do your kids cope? Do you visit all the parks when you're there, and are they still interested in the others after visiting MK?

Thanks, Becky X

We first visited DW with my nieces when they were 3 & 1. We've been back with them 3 times since then, they are now 5 & 3. They absolutely LOVE the MK. It's definitely their favorite park, but they do like things at other parks. Epcot was their least favorite, but I'm hoping with the new Nemo additions that they'll like it better on our next trip. We always visit MK first because it's not only their favorite, but ours as well. They loved the Little Mermaid show at MGM. The funny thing is we've only seen it once, about a year ago, yet if you mention the Little Mermaid they start talking about the Little Mermaid Show.

Personally, I feel like if you want to experience the magic of Disney you really need to visit the MK. My nieces never became so enthralled with the MK that they wouldn't allow us to visit other parks, but we always make sure to visit MK several times during our trips.

Have a great time on your trip!!

I agree! We had to see MK first!!!!! We just got back two weeks ago w/ my sister and her family, and my parents. We had a 3yr old, 2yr old and 8 mo old, so it was all their first time there. We got there right at opening and saw the opening show where a lot of the characters come in on the train to open the park!!! The look on the kids faces when they saw Mickey and Minnie for the first time was the best part of the vacation! All the adults had tears in their eyes!!!!!!

We also had to go back to MK for another day! Just too much to try and fit it there. All the other parks were done in one day, but it is hard w/ little ones. It took twice as long to see each park as it did three years prior when we went on our honeymoon to WDW. Plus, we left each park midday to go back to resort for naps for all of us! Something about the sun and heat just wiped us all out! Hope this helps! Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
