Question about military rates

Has anyone gotten the $99 military passes yet? How do they work. We are going with my brother in Nov, and will be using the 5 that we can get. But he will be arriving the day before us. I am going down there to Universal next weekend. Can I zip over and buy the passes for us to use later, or do you have to use them that day/have the person there, etc? And do you have to use them within 7 days, or just before the end date? We will only use 3 days in Nov, and would love to zip back down to get in another day if we can. Thanks in advance!

We leave this week to take advantage of the military rate so I have not experienced the purchase yet but there have been several threads on the site and several others so you might try a search for more info. My understanding is the tickets must be purchased by the military member or spouse. The 5 tickets are for 5 individulals. One comment I read somewhere said when purchasing the 5 passes, the names and birthdates of the ticket holders were required although the persons did not need to be present when the tickets were purchased. The tickets can be purchased any time between now and 19 December 03 when they expire. They do not need to be used on consecutive days.
Any unused days will expire on 19 Dec 03 Remember to have military ID card when purchasing tickets. If not regular active duty, then you must have the orders showing active duty sevice during the year.

Are you aware that Universal and Sea World also are offering military specials?
Universal has the same 5 day park hopper for $50 a person (military member is free). That one is consecutive days only.
(These passes are $69 per day for everyone else.)

Seaworld is free for 5 people. One day only.

We went from August 27 - Sept 7. Stayed in the CR through SOG, and loved every minute of it. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Thanks guys! I knew someone here would be able to answer my question!

We are going to Universal next weekend. That is when I figured I would zip over and buy the Disney tickets for November. We were thinking about doing Busch Gardens for free (well, we'd have to pay for 1 person) in early December. Thanks for the info! I just went through hotelkingdom and got a family suite at Main Stay for $42/night. None of the Universal hotels could accomodate us for the military rate (40% off) and the only Disney one was Fort Wilderness for $150/night. I had given up the hope of going until I read about hotelkingdom on here!

Isn't Busch Gardens and Sea world owned by the same company? My understanding was that thier promotion was only valid until mid November. Has is been changed?

TIA

It is an either or thing. Sea World or Busch Gardens, and yes, you are right, as far as I know, it is over on Veteran's day (11/11). Sorry about that!

Ahh- I do have it all written down- just not keeping track of things in my head very well! I have a cousin in Tampa- and we can drive down one evening, go the next day and come home that night. So we won't have to get time off work to do it- so it'll just have to be sooner rather than later!LOL
