I was given a big bag of pins from a former collector/trader who doesn't want them anymore. Some she purchased at the parks/disney store, but most were from trades in the parks. I'm trying to weed out the obvious scrappers...I may not get them all, but hopefully I can get the majority out before we go to the parks (the ones I have pulled out are still beautiful pins and will have a happy home in our collection here
)
So, my question is, I know that if the mickey pattern on the pin doesn't extend to the edge/has a border, that it is a scrapper. Does that mean that if it DOES extend over the edges that it is more than likely ok or have there been scrappers reported without the "lip" as well?
I have a lot of pins to go through, and if I can at least start by sorting by the backs, since many of them have the mickey pattern, at least that will shorten my work! I have at least 2 that i had put in my "likely scrappers" pile because the edges aren't all clean/smooth, however they do have the mickey pattern over the edges so it made me wonder if it isn't as clear of an indicator as I had read on other posts.
Thanks in advance for your help!
