Question about menu choices for DDP

I have searched for some time and can't seem to find any info.

We are going in November and are planning on doing the DDP (basic). We always have used this.

My DSIS was at WDW over the weekend and she said at Chefs de France, that they had a limited menu for those on the DDP, but if you chose not to get an appetizer, than you could have more entree choices. I didn't know if this was true or not.

For our last several trips, we would get entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage. If you wanted an appetizer you paid separately for it.

I was wondering if they are limiting the DDP to certain entree items and certain desserts (for TS).

Do you all know what she is talking about?

Thanks if you can help.

On the regular dining plan, you are able to order any entree you want & any dessert listed on the menu.
At Chefs de france (as with some other restaurants) there is a prefix menu, that you can get or not get. You can get this with the regular dining plan but you don't have to. This option gives you a few choices for app, entree & dessert. If you choose to do this you can only order the items listed, no substitutions but since you are on the regular plan, this option will give you the opportunity to get an appetizer as well. So if there is an entree that you want to get listed on the pre-fix menu anyway, you can get an app too. Usually it is the lower priced items or maybe the unpopular ones that are listed.

But no there isn't a restriction on what you can order in terms of which entree or what dessert for the TS restaurants. Sometimes the item will say "for 2" and both 2 adults need to get that and share but there aren't many of those.

So yes technically she was right but I don't think she explained it well to you.

Thanks for the info. That makes better sense.

Do you know what other restaurants besides Chefs have prefix menus?

I'm just relieved to know that we won't be limited in our food choices. I haven't keep up with Disney things so much this year, so I had no clue!! Also, we had never been to Chefs before.

I know Kona cafe, captains grill & Le Cellier do. We get the deluxe plan so I don't really look but I think a lot of the Epcot ones do too.
If you go on allears, the menus there will have the prefixes listed if they have them or not. The menus are more updated on disney's website but its easier to access the menus on allears. On allears it is in one spot, on disney its on each restaurants page.
