Question about ME and arrival time...

If our flight is scheduled to land at 9:35pm can we still take advantage of the luggage pickup from ME?! And how long do you think it would take for it to be delivered to the room? I am just trying to decide if I should just get my bags or let them deliver them. My thinking is we probably won't get to the resort til' around 10:30-10:40 anyways, plus check in which should take about 10-20 minutes. And my parents should be arriving around the same time, so it will probably be a late night for us anyway, so I'm not really worried about them waking us up. Anyone have any experience with arriving just before the cut off of 10pm?!

DME info packet will tell you to expect your bags up to 3-4 hrs after resort checkin. It isn't a quick thing. It will take about 70 mins to get from MCO to your resort. As far as your bags are concerned, I would be tempted to just leave them untagged and get them myself, then bring them to the bus. I hate having to sit around, late at night, waiting for my bags. Especially that close to the time when they stop doing baggage service for DME.
BUT..if you're planning on doing something after you get to WDW..head to DTD or such..and won't be sitting around looking for the bags, then tag 'em and forget about 'em. Then, they should be in your room when you return from whatever you're doing, but again, it will take several hours at least.

Thanks.. I am also in the camp of let's just get them so we won't have to worry about it.. but my boyfriend is saying, just to tag them and bring something to wear for that night and the next day just in case. I just think being so close to the cut off might cause some confusion. It's still technically before 10pm but cutting it very close! And I am not a cutting it close kind of girl!:lmao: That being said, we are planning on hanging around the resort til' pretty late, catching up with our family, so it wouldn't bother me if they came late. Hmmm decisions, decisions! Thanks for the advice though!! :thumbsup2

That man's a keeper!!!! Seriously, relationship aside, always always always always always always have your carry-on bag packed with whatever items will be needed for the first 24 hours at one's destination. Along with, of course, travel documents, medications, and valuables.

Guests visiting Walt Disney World and using Magical Express can then simply proceed directly to the Welcome Center and allow Disney to retrieve and deliver any checked luggage.

We let our resort (OKW) hold them this time since we were moving into a larger unit the next morning anyway. We prepared by packing what we needed (toiletries, sleepwear, another outfit for next day) in our carry-ons. We left the unit at around 9:30 a.m., had our breakfast ADRs at Olivia's @10, and went to check in afterwards. We were lucky enough to get into our new digs right away and then we finally got our luggage. It worked out quite well! :thumbsup2
