We are booked and staying at a resort at Disney. I know that I can't book my fp+ until 60 days out (staying first of June). When I went in and made sure we are all linked it said that we are ready to make fp+ selections at 30 days out. My question is why would it say 30 days out instead of 60 days out?

Anyone with non-package tickets can make FP+ for anytime in the next 30 days. That window changes to 60 days when you have an onsite resort reservation. Essentially, MDE is seeing that you have tickets that you can use any time, so it's allowing a 30 day FP+ booking window right now. That window will expand when you're 60 days from your onsite stay. What it comes down to is that with non-package tickets, Disney doesn't know that you're going to use them for the onsite stay (you could have an offsite vacation coming up in addition to your future onsite stay, and then buy new tickets for the onsite stay), so you're allowed to book for 30 days just like any offsite guest.

I do have a MYW package booked, so I'm confused.

It does not switch to 60 days UNTIL the exact moment you are 60 days away from check-in.

So, at Midnight, Eastern Time, on the date that your check-in is 60 days away, the "30 days" will automatically switch to "60 days."

(This can sometimes be at 1AM, Eastern Time, (instead of Midnight) if Magic Kingdom happens to be open until 1AM that same night.)
