Question about MCO Day Before/DCL Transfer

I reserved my package through DCL and purchased everything through them. I like the convenience of doing this, even though I could have saved some $ doing everything on my own. :upsidedow Anyways, since I arrive the day before do I have to pick up my luggage at MCO and then bring it to the DCL bus the next morning? Or, does my luggage bypass me and head straight for the ship?

I hope it goes straight to the ship -- I really don't want the hassle of dragging my luggage around -- well, everything except the soft sided cooler full of "hoppy" beverages :drinking1 :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the replies!

If you are arriving the day before, are you staying at a Disney resort or another resort? If you are staying at a DIsney resort and have Disney transfers, then yes, they will pick up your luggage at MCO...take it to the resort and then take it from the resort to the cruise line the next morning.

IF you are not staying at a Disney resort, then you will have to bring your luggage back to MCO to utilize Disney transfers.

Often times if you do this all through DCL you will be booked in the Hyatt at the Airport. You get your bags from MCO and take them to the Hyatt (which is literally attached to the airport). In the morning, you leave your luggage in the room and DCL will take care of getting it to the transfer buses. I think this is only the case if you are at the Hyatt.

Yes, I'm assuming we are staying at the Hyatt. We are doing the cruise only and the package included hotel (day before) and transfers. I guess retrieving our luggage won't be so bad. I intentionally bought the package so we wouldn't have to deal with the luggage. Now I wonder if I should cancel the hotel & airfare and book them on my own to save a few bucks??? :confused3

You may want to double check before cancelling. They may take care of the luggage getting from airport to Hyatt, but I don't think so.

I agree. I think you will have to get the luggage only when you first arrive. Let them know you are going on DCL and they will instruct you when in the morning to leave it outside your door. It will get picked up by DCL and delivered to your stateroom door on the ship later that afternoon.

I think we can handle our luggage from the airport to the hotel, so I won't cancel anything until I actually speak with DCL and get all the facts. Thanks! :wave2:
