Question about Marvel or Star wars days at sea

We have booked a trip out of Galveston for near next Christmas. It is a 7 Night Bahamian from Dec. 14th through the 21st. At this time it says it is a Merrytime cruise which is cool because we have never been on the cruise when all the Christmas decorations are out. My daughters are really into Marvel superhero stuff and Star wars and are hoping that the cruise might be one of those as well. All it says so far is that it is a Merrytime cruise so if the cruise were going to have a Marvel or Star wars day at sea would it already say it or do they announce that later on. Have they ever even done one of those type of cruises out of Galveston before? Any info you can give would be appreciated. Thanks.

It will say in the description of the cruise if it will have a Marvel or Star Wars day at sea and yes, the title still states it on the applicable Merrytime cruises as well. So, in this case it sounds like it won't.

I forgot to mention that the cruise is for 2018 and not this year. I was thinking maybe since they just came out with the dates that maybe they wouldnt say if they were gonna have Star wars or Marvel days yet or not. Like I said I have just never booked at this time and just saw that they have these Marvel and Star wars days and just didnt know how soon they let people know.

Pretty sure cruises are either/or. I've never heard of them doing Merrytime Marvel or Halloween Star Wars.

One theme per cruise if they have them.

Just go on the Fantasy any cruise from January until April or May and you'll get Star Wars as they have literally no normal cruises on the Fantasy for all those months. :(

Yep.

We were looking at 2018 cruises last night and there were some that specified both.

Which ones?

The Star Wars cruises are primarily in Mar/Apr on the Fantasy. Halloween cruises are Sep/Oct on all ships. And MerryTime cruises are Nov/Dec on all ships. Marvel cruises are Jan/Feb/Apr, but on the Magic (not Star Wars). But they do overlap Halloween with Marvel on the NYC cruises in Oct, and MerryTime with Marvel in November (again on the Magic).

The Marvel thing is actually just one day out of the cruise, not the whole cruise.

Here is an example of a Halloween one with Marvel: Leaving New York on October 21

Merrytime with Marvel: November 11 also leaving New York

Both in 2018, not sure about the Star Wars ones, we were looking at New York

I'm booked for October 14, 2017 and we will have a Halloween, Marvel cruise and it was confirmed last night a pirate night as well.

I guess the only thing for sure is that the Marvel stuff or Star wars stuff has never gone out of Galveston so it probably wont be this time either. Looks like most of those star wars or Marvel days either go out of Port Canaveral, Miami or New York. Oh well.....

They may do in the future.
So far SWDAS is only offered on the Fantasy, which is out of PC.
There hasn't been a MDAS yet, but at the moment they are only planned for the Magic, and they were originally only announced a year before the sailings.
I wouldn't be surprised if they also do a MDAS at some point in the future on the Wonder, which atm is the ship out of Galveston for some of the year...
They may see how the MDAS go on the Magic, and see how the Galveston cruises sell and then make a decision, you're still over a year away, there may still be hope...

I hope you are right and that does make some sense for them to try it out and see how it does on the magic before they try it on the sister ship. It would be a nice surprise. We are happy to be going around Christmas either way but that would definitely be the bow on the present if we got a Marvel day.
