My DH :smooth: presented an interesting question today re: ME,
Presumably, when we check out, we receive our boarding passes, and
our luggage meets us at our home airport...How does that work with security,
etc, as DH :smooth: asked "what about when in normal circumstances, the airline asks you if your bags have been in your possession at all times? What
about restricted items?" Good question, I thought..any answers?

It is TSA that is manning the stations at the hotels not Disney so the same security is in effect as if you are checking your bags at the airport. Restricted items are still the same.

They haven't asked if the bags have been in your possession for quite a while now.

You don't automatically get your boarding passes and check your bags through when you check out of your resort. Most of us have that automatic checkout having left a credit card. So, on the checkout morning, you have to head to the airline checkin area at your resort...this is usually in a completely different place than the front desk area. Everyone in your party should be there, with IDs. Just think of this as a 'branch' of the airport checkin counters. It works exactly the same way. It is manned by TSA people, not WDW people. They will check your IDs, tag your luggage, and then issue you boarding passes. Now, this is all assuming that people are flying on one of the 'participating' airlines.
